About Brickworks

A volunteer-run forum with no venture funding, no ads, and no plans to sell anything to anyone.

Brickworks started in 2019 as a group chat between six builders who could not agree on a baseplate standard for a shared town layout. The argument outlived the chat app, so we built somewhere to keep it.

Today the forum runs on member subscriptions and a small band of moderators who all build more than they moderate. There are no sponsored threads. If a set gets praised here, it's because someone liked it.

We're deliberately unfashionable: threads over feeds, long posts over reactions, and a search box that actually finds the answer from 2021.
