How to buy a bulk lot without buying someone's regret

A checklist for secondhand kilos: what to ask, what to photograph, what to skip.

Always ask for a photo of the lot spread flat, not piled in a tub. Piles hide discolouration and clone brands beautifully.

Price per kilo below the local average usually means one of three things: heavy Duplo content, water damage, or a lot of large hollow pieces padding the weight.

Budget an hour of cleaning per kilo. If that sounds like a chore rather than a Sunday, buy new parts instead.
