SNOT basics: five brackets that solve almost everything
Studs Not On Top sounds advanced until you learn the handful of parts that do the work.
By BrickGeometry
Most sideways building comes down to five parts: the 1x1 bracket, the 1x2 bracket, the headlight brick, the 1x1 with side stud, and the humble jumper plate.
The trick isn't knowing them, it's knowing their offsets. A headlight brick sets the sideways face back by a plate width; a bracket sets it forward. Mixing them in the same wall is where the 0.2mm gaps come from.
Pick one family per surface. If a facade needs both, hide the transition behind a column or a downpipe. Every clean MOC you've admired is doing exactly that.
